Health Plan choices for Medicare Beneficiaries

MAPD

Medicare Advantage plans , also called Part C are plans offered by private insurance companies that provide the same coverage as Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B and may include additional benefits. Most plans include Prescription drug coverage.
Medicare Advantage plans are gaining popularity due to the low premium and additional coverage for prescription drugs, dental and vision. Understand Prior Authorization 
Many companies  offer HMO PPO and Special needs plans (in certain counties)  

Qualifications  for MAPD 


MAPD ELIGABILTY
​You must have Medicare
  • Part A and Part B 
  • You must live in the service area
  • You will be able to change your plan every year
  • You are locked in from April to December 31st eacah year.
  • Plan well 
  • AEP is Oct 15, till December 7th 

PDP plans

To qualify for a PDP you must have
Part A OR Part B
There is a lifetime penalty if you do not enroll in a Part D plan when you are eligible
